SPRING BREAK!!

VISALIA, CA

It was so nice to go home to Visalia and see Meemaw and Grandpa!! We hadn't been there in far too long. The kids could hardly wait.... for Spring Break- and going to Visalia was the perfect place!!!

Meemaw and Grandpa completely spoiled us!!! They had all the fun kid stuff ready to go!! The kids were in heaven!
Springtime in Visalia
As we drove down from Fresno.... we were all in awe of spring time in the Central Valley- it seems we never get to go at that time. All the shades of green and pink orchards were beautiful! And of course, Meemaw and Grandpa's yard was as gorgeous as ever! The kids were loving it!
Orange Picking
Allie kept asking to see the orange and lemon trees that Meemaw and Grandpa have. She was so excited she brought a bucket to pick a few.

LEMONS

The kids truly were in Heaven! They loved not having any commitments, no homework to worry about.... and all this to play with! They had been so excited to play in Meemaw and Grandpa's pool!!
In fact, one day (as the boys were golfing) the girls spent at least 5 hours out in pool!! They were loving every minute of it!

From Bball.... Swimming.....Swinging....Eating (Thank you Meemaw for making such incredibly tasty food-all of our favorites!)..... Watching the BYU game... Golfing.....Jumping.....Eating Ice Cream.....Visiting the Visalia 1st Ward (so fun).....Valhallas (sp?- our favorite breakfast treat)....Hanging out.....Playing with Toys.....Eating some more- We were truly spoiled!!!

One night we even went out to this awesome place (I forgot the name.) It had the coolest rock climbing wall ever. The kids did awesome- and didn't want to stop climbing. The place also had bball courts, indoor soccer, and arcade games!

As our time was up in VISALIA, we were so sad to go! Thankfully we were headed down to see more Family!! In fact..... we were excited to finally meet Annabelle -Jonelle and Stephen's new little addition. Unfortunately, this picture has been rotated a hundred times, and still shows up sideways- so sorry!) She is a Doll!! Allie was loving every minute of holding her.

It was such a treat to finally be able to go to Stephanie and Paul's, and Jonelle and Stephen's houses. We loved seeing all the work they had done-- it all looks so beautiful! They went all out and made the funnest dinner, complete with Paul's amazing spaghetti (fresh basil and all)- Jonelle's savory rosemary bread --mm mmmmm. It was so fun.... Steph made a St. Patty's day theme.... with rainbow cupcakes....gold coins and all!! I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of that. I didn't even get a picture of us all together- bummer! Thanks so much guys-- you went all out, and made it so fun! Looks like our kids need some table manners :) They were kidding right?

Emily and Chad's
We were also so lucky to go over to Em and Chad's house in Burbank! It was so fun to see their new pad...spacious, and so cute! Em was so nice to take some time off work, and show us around town! Burbank is pretty awesome- with all kinds of cool shops! Here we are at the Candy/Soda shop. All those drinks behind Zack are different kinds of soda's! Em was super sweet and treated us all to one! They were spectacular! The shop was also filled with every kind of candy even all the candies we remembered as kids, and of course the coolest finds....our favorite.... The squirrel undies.

She also took us to Porto's an amazing Cuban pastry shop! Mmmm Mmmm.... the food was to die for, and the cheese rolls were incredible!! Thanks for such a fun time Em- you always have such fun ideas! Since we came in the middle of the day, we didn't get to see Chad.... next time for sure!
After we left the Northern So Cal area.... we couldn't resist, and headed down to West LA to go to Diddy Riese! Still our favorite ice cream, cookie store EVER!!!! I remember digging through the couches to find enough change to make a $1. I know... I'm pathetic. Those were the days- Family night at Diddy Riese! We loved going to school in LA, and have so many fun memories!!
After inhaling our Cookie Sandwiches-- We drove on down to
Disneyland!!!
We decided to squeeze in one day of Disneyland at the end of our trip! It was definitely a squeeze! We ran from ride to ride- making every minute count! The ride max- performed great-- until of course some of the rides were closed. That was a little bit of a bummer. But for the most part, the kids got on almost every ride, and I finished my book. I am sure I looked ridiculous.... Sitting outside of every ride reading. Being large with child... it wasn't too bad, at least it gave me something to do. In my real life....I would have passed that person and thought.... "How Sad- to be reading at Disneyland!" Yep, that was me! At the very end-- we all splurged and got a treat at Grammie's ice cream shop (or at least that's what she says!) Somehow the ice cream tastes amazing at Disneyland!
A few families from the ward were there too! Here the kids are loving riding the tea cups with the Newtons!

It was so cute to watch Zack and Allie. They were so good to help each other get from ride to ride. As they raced through the crowds to get through, Zack took Allie's hand to help her along. I couldn't resist a picture.
It's a Small World!
At the end of the night, we stayed late to see the new Disney World of Color show. The kids loved it- and thought it was so cool! Then of course we headed back to the hotel to catch a few ZZZ's before we had to get our 6am flight! Next time we might want to plan some sleeping time....Maybe!

As we landed in Denver.... the boys were dying because BYU was in town, and we had planned to go straight up to the Mountain to use up the last three days of our skiing 4 passes (I know... we bought them in Oct- thinking for sure we'd use them- life is so busy!) Anyway.... we decided to hang out a bit, and hope the price for the tickets would come down.... magically they did.... So we all went to cheer on the Cougars! Yipee they won- it was so fun to watch them!
The boys were definitely in Heaven!!
Allie was too! She was loving a chance to finally sleep!
After the game we headed up to our favorite resort MARY JANE!!! The skiing was awesome, and the weather was perfect. So Fun!!! You should see Maddie and Josh these days, they are loving the bumps- YAHOO! Zack and Allie are almost there too!

At the end of the week we were all exhausted, because we had had
SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!! Thank goodness for Sunday! It was so nice to have a day to recuperate! Spring break is the best.... we loved every minute to have fun and be together!!!
